Get Ready for the High Season!
Tips to Get Ready for the High Season!
Summer is just around the corner and people are eager to start their vacations and enjoy the weather, and all kinds of activities, so it’s time for you to prepare for some back-to-back booking action. Here are some tips to improve the experience and comfort at your rental for your guests to enjoy and to have your rental prepared every time a new guest arrives.
Welcoming your guests
Depending on your budget there are some things that would amaze your guests every time they enter your rental property. A clean floor/carpet is always a great start for this season, a pro wax/buffer and deep cleaning always make a difference in any guest experience if your budget allows it. Every time a guest checks out, cleaning after will keep your floors/carpet looking like new for the next guest to arrive. Some guests would like to walk barefoot and it’s a big plus in their experience to have a clean floor/carpet.
A clean & comfortable bedroom goes a long way
A clean and stainless bed is always a great way to impress your guests, especially in the summertime, sweat is unavoidable and can be really hard on bed sheets, we always recommend having mattress and pillow protectors at this time of the year, that’s why we need to make sure we have a set of protectors and they are in impeccable condition, you want to avoid yellow stains on any bed item.
Replacing your covers or buying new ones always goes a long way when receiving your guests, you would want to have at least two sets of sheets to rotate them between guests, while one is in use the other one can go for a wash and be returned in time clean and ready for the next guest, although having 3 sets would be more than perfect since it gives a safety cushion in case one gets delayed when getting cleaned you have 1 ready to go. This will all depend on how many bookings you have planned for this season.
A quilt or comforter in your bed while great looking can be hard and often not as quick to wash, that’s why we recommend a duvet and a duvet cover, it’s easier and faster to clean between bookings, a good way to optimize items and reduce cleaning times, definitely a win-win.
Restrooms make a difference
We like to follow a basic restroom rule “2 sets per person”, following these rules we would always want to have two sets or an extra set of towels per person, this goes far when it comes to your guest’s experience and commodity. Inspect your towels so you can make sure they don’t look damaged, old, or stained, buying new ones is a great way to show you care for your guests, this can be at the beginning of the season, and inspect them at the end in case they need replacement.
In the same manner that we recommend 3 sets of sheets for the bedroom, 3 sets of towels would be a better way to optimize time between bookings for cleaning and changing towels before your next guest arrives, it also helps in case of an accident or when you receive guest’s that just like to use a lot of towels. A way to optimize time is having lighter towels per se thick ones or very long towels, we always like to recommend Utopia brand towels, they are faster to dry, and in summer, being high season, having back-to-back bookings and little time between bookings, every minute counts!
When it comes to the bathroom, there’s always one item that gets overlooked, the bathroom mat. It’s always important to have an extra one if possible, for those times there are 2+ guests, that bathroom mat will get wet quickly and this could cause a negative impact on our next guest when checking in, every detail counts when arranging the best experience for our future guests.
The benefit of a Clean Kitchen
Whether your rental can host 2 people or 8+ people your kitchen must always be prepared with the number of plates for the number of guests your property rental can hold, but we have to always keep in mind that accidents can and will happen from time to time, so, it’s always important to add at least 2 spare items of anything that could get broken. This can be beneficial to your guest’s experience and as with the bathroom towels, an extra set of Kitchen towels is always a nice touch and will be a great option to have.
